The process for becoming a member of
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church

If you are worshipping with us at Our Savior’s, we consider you to be a worshipping member of our congregation. If you are joining us on the journey of following Jesus in your daily life, we invite you to participate in any and all of our congregation’s activities and programs. Official membership is not required for participation. There is only one thing you cannot do if you are not an official member, and that is to vote at any congregational meetings.

Membership, however, does mean that you will be invited to and included in more of the congregational ministries, if only because we know who you are and we have your contact information. We will assume a level of commitment that goes beyond occasional participation.

The process for becoming a member of the congregation is rather simple:

• Step 1-You can indicate your interest on the Friendship Pad on Sunday morning or by speaking to the pastor or intern.

• Step 2-Sometime before one of the New Member Sundays, you will be contacted by someone from the church office or by someone from the Evangelism Ministry Team asking if you intend to become a member and providing a membership information sheet to be filled out. • Step 3-The Evangelism Ministry Team will provide you with a mentor to help you become more acquainted with the congregation’s members and ministries.

• Step 4-Prior to New Member Sunday, you will be invited to three Discipleship Classes during the education hour in between worship services on Sunday at 9:15. You will be notified of these dates.

• Step 5-You will be recognized at a New Member Sunday worship service sometime in the spring or fall.
